Some things I've learned so far
I’ve learned a few things in the past few years of running Iridesco with my business partner, Danny Wen.  I thought I’d share them - and I hope to add more to the list next year. Life is more than business. I love Iridesco, and I love working with everyone on the team.  But Iridesco is just one aspect of our lives, and we (including you) are much more than what we “do”. ...

Turn off the firehose
My name is Barry, and I’m a feedaholic. I don’t like to miss out on the latest and greatest article that is certain to be read in my niche field. I have an unconscious desire to become a maven.  On a personal level, while the latest article may be well-written, it is typically just a confirmation of something I already believe or basically understand. Recently I vowed to make better...

There's a Mystery to Solve: The Voynich Manuscript
Over the last few days, I’ve discovered there are some real mysteries in existence. I enjoy my Bigfeet, MothMen and Area 51’s as much as the next person, but it seems, to mangle the words of my man Henry James: ‘The Countess is standing just a bit too far away to make out exactly what she is saying’. Many common mysteries aren’t able to be examined, because they...

Co-op API + Group Announcement
Oh yes, just in time for the holidays: Co-op API.  Now you can extend and build on top of your favorite team collaboration program.  Let us know if you have any questions, and we’d love to see what you do with the API. Also: Group Announcement in the side column, so group admins can write messages for the entire team to see.  Note: only administrators of the group can edit the group...

Spending time with yourself
If you’re laid off, here’s a reminder: take advantage of the time off and spend some time with yourself. Take this from someone who was laid off twice.  Now, I was lucky that I was given a severance package and was entitled to unemployment benefits, and the money afford me the time off.  If you can afford it, spend some time with yourself before looking for another gig.  Once you get...

– Mel Ziegler, or the Minister of Leaves behind the Republic of Tea. As vulgar as it might sound, I agree with him.  The funny thing about the guys behind RoT is that they really don’t know much about tea. Read the entire recap on the book by Judy.
